Working To A More Accessible Future

Accessibility

At Poseidon Jet Ski Tours, we are dedicated to providing an inclusive and enjoyable experience for all our guests. We strive to accommodate individuals of all abilities, ensuring that everyone can partake in the thrill and beauty of our jet ski adventures. Our team is trained to assist guests with varying needs, and we are continually improving our facilities and services to enhance accessibility. Whether you're exploring the stunning coastline or encountering the unique marine life of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park, we are committed to making your adventure both safe and accessible.

What 'We Are' Doing For Accessibility

We are committed to providing an inclusive and thrilling experience for all guests, including those with disabilities.  We think Jet Skiing, Snorkeling and fish feeding should be experienced by all. These are some ways that Poseidon makes it more accessible.

  • Low or Poor Vision: Guests can ride with a guide or have their carer drive while they accompany.
  • Amputees: We provide assistance for getting on and off the jet ski, with carers allowed to accompany.
  • Mental Disabilities: Needs are assessed individually, with guides or carers available for support.
  • Deaf or Hard of Hearing: Guides use visual signals and clear instructions, with carers welcome to join.
  • Safety and Inclusiveness: Safety is our top priority. Each guest’s ability to participate is assessed individually to ensure their well-being and the safety of others.  We understand that disabilities come in a variety of forms this is not an exhaustive list.

While we strive to accommodate all guests, some activities may not be feasible for safety reasons. We encourage guests to contact our staff to discuss specific needs and how we can best accommodate them.

Companion Card: We proudly accept the companion card!

Working To A More Sustainable Future

Sustainability

At Poseidon Jet Ski Tours, we are dedicated to preserving the natural beauty of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park and surrounding areas. Our commitment to sustainability guides every aspect of our operations. We actively engage in eco-friendly practices to minimize our environmental impact and promote conservation efforts. With plans to integrate electric-powered vessels into our fleet, adopting stringent waste management protocols, and educating our guests about the importance of marine conservation, we strive to protect this precious ecosystem for future generations. Our goal is to provide unforgettable experiences while fostering a deep respect and care for the environment. Join us in our mission to explore responsibly and safeguard the natural wonders of our planet.

Our Commitment To The Environment

Our Commitment to Sustainability & Conservation

At Poseidon Jet Ski Tours, we are committed to operating responsibly in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park and the Townsville/Whitsunday region. This incredible ecosystem is home to diverse marine life, coral reefs, and sensitive habitats that require protection. As a permit holder with the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority (GBRMPA), we ensure our tours follow strict environmental guidelines.

Beyond compliance, we actively contribute to conservation through hands-on efforts, education, and sustainable business practices.

How We Contribute to Conservation

🌊 Reef & Coastal Clean-Ups
We participate in clean-up initiatives to remove waste from local marine environments. Recently, we assisted in post-rain clean-ups at The Strand, Pallarenda, and the marina (Feb 2024) and continue to support efforts to keep our waters pristine.

🐠 Supporting Conservation Groups
We are members of Wildlife Preservation Society of Queensland in Townsville, staying engaged through workshops, webinars, and community projects. We plan to participate in upcoming initiatives and will share updates with our guests.

♻️ Recycling & Waste Reduction
Through the Containers for Change program, we recycle water bottles and other materials at the marina station which contributes to the Magnetic Island turtle hospital which is a local group that rehabilitates stranded and sick turtles.

Eco-Friendly Business Practices

🚤 Responsible Tour Operations
